As the May Day holiday approaches, Qingdao's tourism market continues to rise in popularity.

According to the May Day travel forecast report released by Ctrip on the competitive landscape of economically developed cities with convenient transportation and rich cultural and tourism resources, Qingdao's unique charm has positioned it as a regular on the list of top destinations. It is featured in both the top 10 popular tourist destinations in China and the top 10 popular inbound tourist destinations.

The report indicates that Qingdao ranks among the top 10 destinations nationwide for the May Day holiday, alongside cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu. Tourists visiting Qingdao mainly come from Beijing, Shanghai, Jinan, Tianjin, and Nanjing. Meanwhile, popular destinations for Qingdao residents include Shanghai, Beijing, Jinan, Nanjing, and Suzhou.

The bustling tourism market during the May Day holiday reflects the diversified development of Qingdao's cultural and tourism market, with strong performances in both traditional tourist attractions and emerging tourism projects that attract many young travelers.

A notable highlight of Qingdao's May Day holiday tourism market is the rapid growth of inbound tourism. Ctrip data shows that this year, Qingdao has experienced a 152 percent year-on-year increase in inbound tourism orders, making it one of the top destinations for inbound tourists during the holiday period, alongside cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Chengdu.

Qingdao offers rich natural landscapes and historical cultural resources. Beyond famous landmarks like the Zhanqiao Pier and the Badaguan Scenic Area, the city provides a variety of cultural and festive activities.
